Dear Friends and Fellow-Supporters January, 2011
Wow! The New Year has begun and I trust that the Lord is showing Himself strong on your behalf. I know and want to testify to you all that as for Teresia and I, we are seeing His hand mighty in our lives. We are truly grateful. In relation to our ministry God moved in my heart today as I read Jeremiah 28:11, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” The people that I live with everyday, people who have been condemned in sin, people who have no hope, and people who don’t seem to understand the clear message of God sometimes, still have the grace of God moving in their lives because He has thoughts of peace and not of evil toward them. May God open even more doors into their hearts so that the message of the “Good News” might penetrate and be glorified in them as it was in me all those many years ago.
Many of you know that yesterday was my birthday. Many of you sent birthday greetings by mail, email, and facebook. Thank you. I received phone calls and visits here from friends and from some with whom we have been sharing the Word of God. The family that was with us here in San Pancho for services on Sunday dropped by and the children brought a small birthday cake. The kids hugged my neck and gave me a kiss. It was a great feeling. They are not saved yet but I believe that God is creating a strong bond with this family and soon they will be saved and we will see a good work begun here. I turned 55 yesterday. I really don’t know what to think. It is a milestone in our culture and I am grateful to the Lord for the years and the blessing He has given. While all the glory belongs to Him I must say that I don’t know if I could have done these things were it not for my wife. Many of you know her and know that she is the vitality of our marriage and life and work together. She has had to put up with a lot. I thank God for her and ask that you pray that she will continue to shore me up when things get rough from time to time.
Last night we had our second class of the Oasis Bible Institute for this year. It was simply amazing to see the students that came and I was truly taken aback. There were sixteen students last night with two who will come absent. Pastor Edgar took some of the young men to Hermosillo to the Bible Institute there to become acquainted with it. There is a possibility that others from Aguas will come. Next Monday will be the last day we will accept new students for credit. Please pray that God will bring in the people He desires to be here. We are thrilled by these new students and believe that the Lord is wanting to do something here above what we had dreamed. Please pray.
February 13 thru 20 will be the Pastor’s Seminary in Tabasco. Many of you know of this ministry and have given to the need of books and travel, and have prayed that God bless and increase the effect of this ministry. This is coming quickly now and the pastor, Evaristo, has asked me to teach on the doctrine of Eschatology. I am busy preparing these studies and am asking God to emphasize the imminent return of our Savior so that our churches will double our efforts to reach the world for Christ. Please pray that will supply all our needs according to His mercy.
March will bring a visit from Ben and Amanda and four of my grandchildren. Grandma and I are really looking forward to this visit. Ben and Amanda will also be helping is some church services and providing music classes for many of our people here in Aguas. Ben has a real desire to help in teaching good, Godly, music in Mexico and Latin America, and we will begin such a push and emphasis while he is here. On Sunday nights before services at the Trinity Baptist Church I am teaching a class on “Music in the Church” and “Song Leading”. Ben and Amanda will be here in the middle of our course and we trust that their emphasis will embolden our students to make concrete decisions for Godly music in their personal lives and in the ministries that they will lead in the future.
April will find me in Reynosa. God has opened the door to a new Pastor’s conference that is starting on that city which is located south of McAllen, TX. It will begin on Thursday the 7th and continue to Saturday the 9th. The theme will be “Aviva el Fuego” or “Revive the Fire”. The desire of the pastor is to stir up the fire of evangelism and discipleship in these churches to be able to face the persecution that they are living with in the turmoil that is Mexico today. I will be presenting some of the written work that I have developed with a desire to God’s work advance. The cost will be substantial. Pray as we keep busy trying to step through every door that is being opened to us in this year.
June will bring a first ever for us Medical Clinic. It will be on our property here in San Pancho. On this Friday we will be meeting with the Mayor of San Pancho and other officials as well as with the representative of the group that will be coming. He will be looking over the property to see how well it will work and to what degree the clinic will be offered. We are again thrilled with opportunity for the good of the people of San Pancho and for the reach of the Gospel. We desire to see God open many hearts with this program.
In the middle of all of this we will still be conducting the Oasis Bible Institute, the services here in San Pancho, and the music classes at Trinity Baptist Church. We are planning a trip to El Salvador in the summer with Alisha Link, Ashley Hendricks, Teresia and I. Alisha and Ashley are doing the greater majority of the work for The Least of These arm of the ministry. They are collecting monies and clothes for the helps ministry we have in San Vicente and Playa San Diego, as well as some helps here in Mexico. The are using Consignment stores for the clothes. It takes a lot of work and expense to wash and prepare the clothing and to keep up with the needs. We desire to see this area grow. In the summer we will go to see what is the continuing need. Please pray with us as we make these plans. Again it is costly and we need your prayers. I also will be, Lord willing, spending some time with the church that we helped to start in Playa San Diego.
We need your prayers!
Again thank you to all of you who remember us daily in your prayers and to those in this week commented on my getting older; a mixed blessing.
In His Service
Tim and Teresia Hendricks
